Sierra, a company within the Giordano Riello International Group, announces the publication of its 2024 Sustainability Report, a document that transparently  describes the company’s achievements and strategic objectives in the social, environmental, and economic fields.

Produced in collaboration with IPLUS, the report reaffirms the company’s commitment to a development model based on responsability, clarity, and continuous improvement in the three ESR areas-Envirolmental, Social and Research.

Sierra’s goal is not only to make products more sustainable throughout their entire life cycle – from design and production to their launch on the market – but also to provide a valuable tool for informed decisions, projects, and measures; to affirm that sustainability represents an undisputed  value to be shared by all, ethical value, and a positive legacy to be left to future generations.

Sierra’s ongoing commitment is founded on principles such as energy saving, health protection, pollution reduction, and technological research, that are some of the  essential cornerstones which characterize the company.

]]> Tuesday, December 9, 2025, in the Mechanical Engineering building in Padova, Daniele Contato, R&D and Technical Manager, held a presentation of the heat exchangers produced by Sierra and the related production process, aimed at the students of the first year of the master degree in mechanical engineering in the University of Padova. Particular attention has been made on the key features of Sierra’s production process, that stand out for their technological content and product quality. The meeting was a great success with interest by the students and involved professors.

This event is part of a strategy by Sierra that aims at strengthening collaboration between the company and the academic world, to ensure technological transfer between the two and to present the local realities to the future graduating students, in order for them to be enriched once they will enter the job world.

Sincere thanks go to Professors Stefano Bortolin and Marco Azzolin, from the Department of Industrial Engineering, for the hospitality and the involvement in organizing the meeting.

During the ceremony, Wabtec—a U.S.-based multinational and world leader in railway components and systems—recognized its top 100 suppliers out of a total of more than 8,000. On July 4th, Sierra commemorated 55 years of success and innovation with an informal dinner dedicated to all the people working in the company: those who contribute daily to its development and growth.

President Raffaella Riello and Vice President Alessandro Riello reflected on Sierra’s significant milestones through a short film, highlighting the company’s long journey that began in 1970 in Isola della Scala. A family story of veronese excellence for a leading company in the thermomechanical sector.

“Sharing, participation, and a renewed sense of belonging are the ingredients that unite us and define who we are, and they will continue to be our core values for the future” emphasized the President during her opening speech. The company’s 55 years are intentionally punctuated with “5.5” to underline a forward-looking vision, with new projects in the pipeline. Sierra is a work in progress, an ever-evolving and dynamic company.

The evening concluded with a spectacular fountain show featuring multi-coloured water jets synchronized to music, with the Sierra logo projected in the background.

During the month of December, Sierra  achieved the certification according to Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) N° 2014/68/EU for a group of heat exchangers in Category II,  intended to be used with Group 1 fluids and characterized by PS 45 bar, TS -30/+125 °C and maximum DN  38 mm.

The achievement of this certification demonstrates Sierra’s continuos commitment to expand its product range and it strengthen Sierra’s offer for customers oriented to A2L and A3 class low GWP refrigerants in medium and high capacity refrigerating machines and heat pumps.

  • The introduction of a new Ø7 mm diameter tube
  • The addition of 18 new refrigerants, among which R1270, R454B, R454C and R513A


The introduction of these features strengthen Sierra offer for customers operating in North-American market and oriented to low GWP refrigerants.

Save the date: Sierra is at the Chillventa fair.
We will be present with our stand n 7-226 in Hall 7 to present highly efficient and reliable products and solutions. In particular:

Tecnical solutions for the use of natural refrigerants such as propane (R290) and C02 (R7449) to carefully follow and satisfy all the customers’ requests,developing together with them “products for specific application.

New production processes for the production of folded exchangers. Greater flexibility, dimension and production safety for a better product to meet the customer’s needs.

Range of surface treatments available to make the exchangers compatible with the needs dictated by the operating or installation conditions: to improve the performance of evaporating exchangers, ensure protection against corrosive phenomena and take care of the aesthetic of the product.

Sierra is, as always, a further step forward with our attention to increasing the quality and reliability of the product for the new challenges of the market.

destination chosen for employees who completed 25 years of seniority during
2023 was Vienna. Three intense days, spent together with Aermec colleagues to
visit the city with a guide who explained the most significant places and
characteristics of museums, baroque churches, castle, palaces, cafes, and
typical Viennese restaurants. All the major attractions of the Austrian capital
were an authentic, rewarding experience for the participants to remember.
